Can you name Maine's Oldest Continuously Operated Ski Area?

The answer is: Shawnee Peak at Pleasant Mountain

1954 - First Chairlift in Maine

In an article written by Jack Quinn the local correspondent out of South Paris, went on, "In a few days Maine's only chairlift - the third longest in New England - will be in full operation at the Pleasant Mountain development overlooking Moose Pond. Construction of the 4,300-foot lift to the top of the north peak is progressing rapidly." Views from the top were cited, 12 lakes including Sebago, the Presidential Range and on clear days Portland Harbor. As the only ski area in the state offering a T-bar and a chairlift, Pleasant Mountain quickly became a very busy place.
